The Fastest Modern Cars

Modern cars can be compared in many ways. For example, people determine the best automobiles for their fuel consumption or the cheapest cars. However, the main thing for which autos are valued is their speed. Here is a list of the fastest modern automobiles.

The Speediest Motorcars in the World

Koenigsegg Agera RS is the fastest car in the world. In 2017, the Swedish hypercar managed to accelerate to 447 kilometers per hour. Under the hood, this auto has a 5-liter engine.

Bugatti Veyron was the first production car, which overcame the mark of four hundred kilometers per hour. Moreover, in 2010, the flagship modification of this hypercar raised the bar to 435 kilometers per hour.

Hennessey Venom GT is equipped with a 7-liter V8 engine from Chevrolet Corvette. In 2014, with this motor, the car accelerated to 435 kilometers per hour.

In 2007, SSC Ultimate Aero TT was recognized as the fastest car in the world, breaking the speed record set by the legendary Bugatti Veyron. The representatives of the Guinness Book of Records recorded the maximum speed of the American supercar at around 414 kilometers per hour. The manufacturer himself said that the Ultimate Aero TT could accelerate to 435 km / h. However, this has not been documented.

Classic Models of the Fastest Autos

A list of the newest fast cars was presented in the previous paragraph. Here you have the opportunity to get acquainted with the models that have already become classics.

In the late 1990s, the Aston Martin One-77 was the fastest car in the world; it accelerated to almost 400 kilometers per hour. This high speed was provided by the BMW engine – a 6.1-liter V12 with a power of 672 horsepower. In fact, it was the last car that developed a similar speed with an atmospheric engine. All subsequent records were set with turbocharged motors.

Under the hood of the Italian supercar Pagani Huayra, there is a 6-liter twin-turbo engine V12, developed by Mercedes. The motor is 720 horsepower, which allows it to accelerate to 365 kilometers per hour.

When creating the Noble M600, a 4.4-liter V8 engine was used, which is produced by Yamaha for Volvo. Swedes used this motor, for example, in the Volvo XC-90 crossover.

Ferrari LaFerrari is equipped with a 6.3-liter engine, which produces 790 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque. It allows the auto to accelerate to 350 kilometers per hour.

Lamborghini Aventador is one of the fastest vehicles of our time. The Italian supercar is equipped with a 6.5-liter V12 engine that transfers all its power to four wheels.

Technical progress continues to evolve, and this means that in the near future there will be new models of high-speed autos. In addition, today the field of construction of electric cars, which are already breaking speed records, is actively developing. A list of the fastest electric automobiles may be created soon, and cars running on internal combustion engines will become the part of human new history.
